Can object numbers be changed ? I'm guessing the answer is NO. If the answer is YES, with software only, I haven't tried any software yet. I had the following objects in Scan List 2: A, D, B, C and E. I decided to move them to SL 6 and manually moved them one at a time: A, B, C, D, and E. However, once moved, they reappeared in the previous order. I wanted them in alphabetical order. As I looked closely, I saw that they were arranged in numerical order by their object numbers. I wanted them to appear in the order I moved them. Any way (manually) around this ?

I don't know if it can be done manually. It would be very tedious if you had any number of objects. You can do it with software, quite quickly and easily.

Win500 gives me all the renumbering & sorting options I need. I do not know about the other software offerings.

pathalogical, you have not said what scanner you are using, but if it is object oriented I believe WIN500 would be the correct choice. DonS is the author of WIN500 and has graciously allowed for a 30-day trial run of his software. That 30-day trial period is also offered by all the other software, too; some at differing degrees of operability. WIN500 is fully operational from the get-go; trial period or not.

You can sort using the menus or you can manually assign Object ID numbers to move the location of the object in the list one object at a time. Very cool.

You do not have to have a Premium Subscription to RR to use the software, and I might say that after using the software, I purchased WIN500 because there are many things that come up during the life of a scanner that you will want to change, tweak, whatever, and that can become very tedious without having software to help.

Also, having the software open on your computer in front of you gives you a whole new perspective as to how things are laid out. It's like the difference in trying to navigate through a strange room in the dark, or having the light on while you make you way through it.

It's a Pro 106. I've only had it 2 months. I have just a few objects in the radio so far and is not fully loaded yet. Thanks for the replies.

Definitely go with the Win500 then. I didn't realize the PSR500's true capability until it was laid out in front of me- the layout created in Win500 is an almost intuitive picture now that I have seen it enough. It really forms a picture of what object oriented scanning anthropomorphically "looks like" (and everybodys looks different).

Wasn't until I imported my 96 into Win500 and saw how it set up in the software did I see the light. Have had my 106 for 3 1/2 months and love it. Seeing how the objects work makes it intuitive.
