• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have looked everywhere and have emailed nearly every 2way Radio site I've been on trying to obtain the CE142 programing software for the EVX-531 model radios. Will someone please tell me how in the world I get the software?? I'm aware I may have to purchase it, that's fine, although a free download would of course be preferred if it exists and is legal.

I. can. not. find. it. anywhere!!!
Are my web searching skills that bad or...what's the reason it's not online to purchase and download??

I did find one site that has it listed for sale as well as other radio programing software but my instincts are telling me something's not right about the site (below). It seems fishy because the phone number all over the site is disconnected.

I wish I knew why this information of where to get the software was so secretive and difficult. If someone could answer that I'd appreciate it.

For anyone else on an endless search for the software:

You need to register here:
https://businessonline.vertexstandard.com/
Once your account is approved (which may be another feat?), and could take up to a few business days, you can download the software you're looking for free of charge from that site.

The phone number works.
Rings all day long.
It has never been disconnected.

We did have some issues with the VM system but that has been fixed.

Thanks
John

The phone number was disconnected when I made that post. I tried several times and did not dial it wrong. I'm not arguing about it. It's working now. No thanks for the null amount of help everyone was answering my question. My local communications dealer was of superb help. I don't get why not even one person here was...but...whatever. The radios are licensed as required and programmed now.

I think you set your expectations a little too high. Despite the popularity of this site it doesn't mean you'll get an answer to every obscure question.
