Between trunk systems, the choice is yours. They say DTV has gone away but our mobiles in the trucks still lose signal and cannot transmit to the tower on UHF. I have noticed inside some buildings the signal will get a site trunking alert with the new radios. Also if you have two radios in the same pocket and you transmit on the fire ground that the radio on the trunk system will give you the site trunk alert. I just think it's due to 1 radio overpowering another.
Dispatch still on Island 1.
Fire ground is on 700 fire ground 4. When the fast team from 47 or 60 comes over they are on fire ground 2.
Squad 49 still operates 151.1000.
Squad14 will be back on DMR 155.385 shortly. The tower was painted and the antenna should be up.
@BJSCHIEF4900 @elias1988 here is some intel. May help you.

The FCC sold TV spectrum ( to cellular) and had those broadcasters move. The result was more stations in less RF space. This was called “ Repack Plan”. Some Public Safety users began seeing interference in 2020 never seen before as these stations moved. The band is 470-512. TV channels 14 through TV21.

Ocean’s TRS is neatly confined within TV20 506-512MHZ. Some TRS systems use spectrum in different bands. This can help avoid problems during tropo ducting.

Impacts to TRS can be as follows. The TV signal overrides the control channel. If a subscriber radio can’t decode the data in the CC it is useless, just like taking the antenna off. Also should the RF noise floor rise enough, the TRS repeater receiver can be blocked by the TV RF. Think about a portable inside a building. Not much RF gets out.

TV 20 WGNT Portsmouth Va. Lots of water (good for tropo) in the path to Ocean.

570,000 watts from 1’300 feet. June 24/25 were strong in the NE.

Signal graphs for WGNT at Poughkeepsie, NY-dtvdxer on tuner1

TV 20 WUNC Chapel Hill NC…look at yearly graph how signals propagate. This station runs a million watts from a thousand feet.

Signal graphs for WUNC-TV at Easton, MD-whiskeyone on tuner0

There are many new CH20 stations that could propagate at times into Ocean. Take a look.

RabbitEars.Info

Save the first two links in phone contacts as URL’s . Radio trouble, pull these up and check signal levels. Have tech put a spectrum analyzer up at site to record events or go there when it shuts down. Good luck!

A reminder PS use of this band is secondary. Users problem. Good thing for 700MHZ.
