While in Trenton on Monday, I heard some comms over the Ocean County TRS with TG 16000 (and, yes, I was surprised to pick up Ocean County in Trenton; I was even able to pick it up over in parts of Morrisville and Falls Twp in Bucks). I couldn't pick up what was said, but it was analog. Anyone with a guess as to what that might be?

Not sure if you mean 16 or 160 but 160 is for Countywide Emergency Management and 16 is a unknown talkgroup.

Ctrabs74 - What kind of scanner are you using? I have a RS Pro 95 and occaisionally it comes up with bogus talk groups in the display and the only way to get it to stop doing that is to turn it off for a few seconds and turn it back on ( power up clear ). To my knowledge there is no TG 16000. I assume you are using the uniden decimal format for that talk goup number?

Let's not confuse the issue here. He specifically said 16000.

That's exactly the question he is asking and apparently that's the talk group that came up on the screen. Hopefully he will reply and let us know whether he actually had it programmed that way or had the scanner on the talk group ID search function when it came up.

I run MTrunker32 on the system often and never saw 16000 before. Were you using an original PRO-92? If yes, the original PRO-92 adds 16 on to each of the Ocean County TRS talkgroups.

I think the sensible thing to do here would be to wait until crabs replies and lets us all know whether he actually had the TG programmed or if it came up during a search, rather than to theorize based on information that raises questions.

I have a 396. When I was listening to Ocean County, I had it in "Search" format, and am pretty sure 16000 was the TG that was displayed. I don't see a 16 TG listed in my sheets, but I do have OEM1 (160) programmed. If it were that particular group, then it would've displayed "OEM1" instead of 160.

Then again, I only had Ocean County on for a few minutes; as I stated before, I was in Trenton (near the train station) at the time, and reception was hit and miss. But I stand behind what I saw re: 16000.

Okay, thanks. If that's what you saw then who are we to dispute it. I have already programmed it and if it comes up active, I'll post what I hear. BTW, I think someone found a TG 16 using trunker, but as of yet I don't think anyone has heard anything on it, so it may not actually be a valid TG. I have it in my scanner also, but nothing at all on it.

It's valid and used sometimes but I never caught any traffic on it other than seeing MTrunker32 log it.
