I've noticed there's hardly any OC System EMS traffic since the 12/28/03 MONOC takeover, and the Fire TGs have become moderately active since 1/1/04...

Is anybody else in Ocean County hearing any activity on the County System Fire TGs ?? I haven't heard a thing...I'm getting the police and sheriff loud and clear.

fire

The county is switching over fire departments starting with the smaller southern county departments first. This is set up to be a two year project. The towns have to buy the equipment for the fire departments so it may even take longer. If you know how budgets are.

John... Thanks for the info and yup, I understand fully about budgets. Whenever any type of government is involved in anything it moves at a snail's pace. I've got the TGs in the scanner and will just wait it out.

stvnd53 is correct. MONOC Paramedics (they now cover all of Ocean County as well as Monmouth) are dispatched on Med 9 - 462.950 PL 210.7 by MONOC Control. The Ocean County Radio Room dispatcher uses the County Trunked System TG ID 928 (DEC) 03a(HEX) to communicate with the paramedic units. I don't think the county has capability to use the Med 9 frequency.

MONOC uses Med-9 & Med-10. They also have 2 simplex frequencies that they use for "special ops stuff."

Med-10 462.975 PL-210.7

Med-10 is used for Ocean County and South from what I have been told.

Just and F.Y.I. MONOC took over the rest of St. Barnabas MICU program and EMTAC North. So now MONOC is pretty much state wide.

Med 10 - 462.975 is a simulcast of Med 9 - 462.950. All dispatching for all of Monmouth and Ocean Counties is done on Med 9. The two simplex frequencies you are talking about are:

Tac 1 - 502.0875 (Portables Only)
Tac 2 - 501.3875 (Portables Only)

They are, but I have heard 201 talking on Med-9 and did not hear it on Med-10. The same for 214 talking on Med-10 and nothing coming over med-9. Disptach is simulcast, but the channels are not patched together so when 201 unit talks on Med-9 it reverts over to Med-10.

The Ocean County Road Department is on the County Trunk System. There are no actual frequencies for them, they use trunk system talk groups. You'll need a trunk tracking scanner to receive them. Click on the link below for all of the info pertaining to the trunk system. The Road Department Talk Groups are listed in the "Ocean County Services Talk Groups" section.
