I heard Ocean Springs Fire Dept. on the Jackson Co. TRS talking about testing portable 800 band radios programmed on the TRS system. One person (may be the fire marshal/chief) said the only problems he had was in elevators somewhere. He was able to key up the repeaters on the other side of Mobile Co. AL, and clear across Harrison Co., Horn Island, and other locations.
Now, the department is deciding, if I remember correctly, whether to merge into the TRS or stay in the VHF band.

I haven't heard any Ocean Springs PD traffic on the Jackson Co TRS. Has anyone heard OSPD on there?
