Can someone please help me setup the city of Oceanside, California (San Diego County) Lifeguard service on SDRTrunk? I have gone into the playlist editor->radio reference and am searching for them, but don't find it. I'm new to this software, totally lost.

Also, lesser concern, does this software support sending a RTMP stream to my host or only the ones setup in it?

Thank you in advance.

Oceanside is on the San Diego-Imperial County RCS NextGen system, which is P25 Phase2, the TGID for the lifeguards is 2408 and 1831. SDRTrunk doesn't do RTMP streaming. Setup would depend on what all you are trying to listen to besides the lifeguards.

thank you for the fast reply. I got rtmp going with a simple audio sink. I found the talk groups, thank you. but how do I know which control channel to use? I see 3 control channels for that system.

WACN: 781824 System 1406 NAC 1397

Does this sound right?

I apologize in advance if these are newb questions. thank you

Normally add all the control channels for each tower, once you see what control channel SDRT locks onto, then you can delete the others if you want to.

What tower are you trying to listen to? Are you adding it via the Radio Reference tab, or doing it manually?

EDIT: Looking at the tower map, the North Simulcast looks to be the tower to load into SDRT

I have an SDR up by the oceanside pier. I'm just trying to listen to the lifeguards.

So all I need to add are the control frequencies?

Thank you for your help!

This is what the channel setup should look like in SDRT. You will need 2 sdrs to cover all the available talk channels, as the channel used can change with each transmission.

Then you have to create a Alias List and import the TGIDs, and only set the two Life Guard freqs to listen. You will still receive all the other TGID's and they will show up, but will not be heard or decoded. You can also set up Blacklists to block all the other TGIDs. It's not as simple as adding the 2 TGIDs for the Life Guards.

If you need more help, PM me your phone number.

It seems to be playing all talk groups instead of just the two I have setup. I can see the two I want to only hear, they have an alias set. The others are still playing and with no alias. Is this a setting somewhere?

thank you much

If you don't put a TGID in the alias list it will play no matter what you do.

How many TGIDs do you have in the alias list, just the two or is there others? Any TGID in your alias list that you don't want to hear has to have Listen turned off.

The other way is to create a Blacklist entry. You create the two TGIDs for the Lifeguards. Then create a third entry named Blacklist. You use the Add Identifier to add all the other TGIDs between 1 and 65535. It take three entries in the Identifier section to accomplish this, a listing for 1-1830, second one for 1832-2407, and the third 2409-65535. Using the APCO25 > Talkgroup Range. Making sure Listen is turned OFF. Then it only says Blacklist when another channel is transmitting, instead of the TGID/Name.

Below pic shows how it would look.

It is for a small number of channels only and if you don't want to see the other TGIDs.

I still see them popping up in the "Now playing", but I'm not hearing anything. Which is great. Thank you for your help!
