Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone has unit numbering info for Oceanside and Carlsbad PD? Adam and Boy designators seem to be day and evening shift. I also hear George, Victor, Union, Zebra etc units. Victor seems like RSVP. Also, does anyone have an updated Beat map for Carlsbad?
Thanks

Ocean units are the Harbor department.
Not sure on the Zebra units might be, I can ask. I use to work for OPD.In the old days Zebra unit was Reserve Police Officers. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Here are some more units I heard tonight.

Tom? Mary? King? Sam?

Zebra units followed format of 1Zebra2 and 2Zebra2. I was listening in afternoon so wondering if the the second digit for "reserve" units might shift number??

Thanks again.

Tom is a traffic unit, they handle crashes and traffic investigation as well as regular patrol work.
Mary units do the same but are motorcycle officers.
King is reserved for dog units
Sam is usually a supervisor.
Young is Senior volunteer or RSVP, they check on the elderly to see if they are OK. In Oceanside only. Other agencies have their own also.
1 Zebra 2 in the days I was working meant- 1 meaning the unit,Zebra Reserve and the 2 meaning a 2 person unit.
So 2 George 2 Gang unit 2 people in the car. My information is that Oceanside has no more Reserves at the department.
Now this is not for all agencies, Sam,King or K9 and Mary units are the norm but each agency has their own meanings.
So 1 Adam 2 is a down town unit 2 man. day shift. The city has I think 9 sectors still. the lead number tells the sector of the city,Adam,Boy,David,Charles I have explained already.
