I’m trying to use a Motorola SL399 (UHF DMR) radio to monitor Oconee county SO.
I have the software and cable. I doing digital conventional DMR with no TX.
I can program no problem but can’t receive audio. The bust light flashes but nada.
I know the frequency, color code, and slot are right because a friend have a Chinese Boefeng radio and it works fine. I want to stick with Motorola as they are much better radios.
Anyone know of a solution for this? Or have a working code plug for the SL-300 radio? Thanks.

Pardon my autocorrect. It’s an SL300 and I meant to type “busy light”. Thanks.

I don't know this for 100% fact, but if their radio system uses RAS, a Motorola radio isn't going to work. A CCR like a Boefeng or Tytera ignores RAS and will decode audio just fine.

I know that DSD+ Fastlane will reveal that information, Likely some other digital decoding software will also. I don't know if there are any radios or scanners that will show it or not.

Thanks Brian. How would I find out if it has RAS

Thanks for your help. I believe I’ll sell this radio and get a different brand. I have the software and cable so that should sell ok.
