Went to the Tenley Tower area of DC today to check for a WACN on 380.95 since I had forgotten to do so previously since it displayed a system ID of 001-1010. The same ID is on 380.8875 which is the real control channel. 380.3875 also displayed the same ID and WACN. So I'm pretty sure the 001-1010 [1B5C8] site transmits from that area and is just overloading the scanner.
But today I scanned through the 406-420 range and that ID came up on 411.825. So I programmed a new P25 system with that as the control channel and sure enough it would display the system ID and WACN [1B5C8]. I didn't stick around long enough to see if it would actually track the system that way. There is not much activity on the real 001-1010 to begin with.
Anybody close by want to give it a try too and see what happens?
