I went to turn on my PSR800 and kept saying applying firmware update on the display and then some error. I've had it a month and updated firmware and dsp and all else before I first used it a month ago. Then I hooked it to my laptop and did a update search and tells me there is a new firmware and dsp update but its the same update I applied before. Told me I only had firmware 1.0. How did it go back from 1.6 to 1.0?! Strange behavior.

I'm still quite frustrated by how GRE won't let other companies write software for the PSR800. I keep getting so many errors in EZ Scan, almost every time I try to read the audio files off the SD card. Its sad how we are locked into using one program only.

It probably didn't. If the scanner is not communicating properly with the software I believe it'll say you only have firmware 1.0.

Said it right on the display though, showed current firmware and what it was updating to, and went through the update on the display at full brightness. Then went through a long process of updating RR's database. Its been acting so odd lately. Maybe since I always remove my SD card and put it in my laptop to work with the software since going through USB is so slow. I will try to just hook it to the laptop through the USB cable from now on and see if it behaves better and I get less errors.

I have the same problem, tilt404. I've noticed that if I write to the card and then try to download the audio files, I get an error message. However if I download the audio files first then I don't get an error. Pain in the butt but it is a work around.

I'm not sure that this problem is an EZScan problem. I think it might be a glitch with the scanner's OS.

Its a pain too because after getting the error, the software won't let me save to archive too, so I lose any changes I made before trying to get the audio. I really wish GRE would let Butel write software for this scanner. Always been happy with their software. EZ Scan is so frustrating, but it was free and comes with the RR database for free too so I can't really complain.
