OK - here's something weird...

I'm listening to the Anne Arundel County TRS on my BCD396 and I hear an open mike - I'm thinking someone hit an emergency button.

I look and the TGID displayed is 65184 (odd point #1).

I look at my TRUNKER display for AA County and I don't see ANY talkgroups showing "fixed" (i.e. steady on representing an open mike).. if fact, several times during the event, no talkgroups were active at all... but this mike is still open. (odd point #2).

The questions are :

was this talkgroup real? (doesn't seem like it)
if so what is it?
and why wasn't it showing up on trunker?

Strange.

65184 - 16 (first TG on AACO system) = 65168

65168 / 32 = 2036.5

looks like a false ID. ANY TG ok the AACO system will render a numer without a decimal point and number after it. try this formula for any TG on the system.

TGID - 16 = answer

answer / 32 = value

value goes up as TG ID goes up (48 is 1, 80 is 2, 112 is 3, etc)

How do you use Trunker with a psr-500?

Could the OP be seeing a talkgroup with some status bits on?

IIRC, the extra bit that makes it not evenly divisible by 32 is set by a TG to TG patch.
