This afternoon while listening to a DTR feed (AirMed-6 DTR channel), I heard Lifeline 1 tell Lifeline Center they were "switching over to 900". Then, dispatch acknowledged they were switching to "900". (Lifeline 1 had previously reported they were heading to LaPorte). Could this refer to a 900 band LMR system? Or possibly ADS-B?
If they were referring to an LMR system, I'm pretty mystified as to which system this could be; I'm not sure if there is even 1 900 LMR system left anywhere in Colorado, let alone one that a AirMedical helicopter would ever use.
