Most repeaters use the same tone on the RX side as on the TX side. Some are CSQ, while others use different TX and RX tones. As a repeater user, you must get the TX tone correct to use the repeater (or it won't recognize your transmissions). You can set your receiver to use a tone or use CSQ and be OK when using the repeater since CSQ has the receiver open regardless of the tone (or lack thereof) being sent by the repeater.

One other thing to keep in mind, however. Some repeater organizations will have a tone for normal operation, but turn it off for nets to allow access to folks that use older radios that don't have tone capability to check in. If you have tones sent when you transmit you should still be OK, but if you have tones on your receiver, you may miss the transmissions since the repeater may not send them out.

To be an officially coordinated repeater, some states began requiring input tones on the ham bands back in the 70's. Some run csq to save money with older repeaters. Most commercial repeaters will run both tx and rx PLs.

Some of my gmrs repeaters have split tones. Makes it hard for people to tone search the repeater that I haven't given permission to use it. One I have to really screw with people. PL on the input of the repeater, DPL on the output.

Ham repeaters, tones, coordination - yeah, sure. OK.

Anyway, back to the OP's question - ODF.
All repeaters within the same district, on the same frequency,
transmit the same PL tone - Just like OSP, ODOT, etc...

Thanks Mike! I appreciate you answering the question. Would you happen to have the RX tones? Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

Thanks

The RX (repeater transmit) tones are in the table at
the bottom of that 09 map, for RX tones, use the tone shown by the STAR.
That is the Primary Relay and tone - i.e. Mary's Peak 6E is starred in WO.
Therefore the 'E' tone 167.9 is what you're looking for -

For my area NC - High Heaven 11F is the Primary Relay,
So, all repeaters in the district transmit 'F' tone 179.9.

Hope this make sense.
