Off Center Dipole w/ 800mhz

Hi all. Have made a few off center dipole's, however when i hook up my 396t to pick up CT CSP on 800 Mhz not picking up clear as I would like. Were on this type of antenna would I add something to increase reception. Link below is what I have made. Thanks!

The problem with this antenna is that at uhf and above, it is a longwire with a very high elevation angle - especially at 800 mhz, so it is looking nearly straight up for 800mhz energy.

I like ocfd's but keep this "feature" in mind - it is mostly suitable for strong-signal areas on uhf and above, or funky situations where you might be getting a reflection. There isn't really anything you could add to it since it is such a compromise antenna.

You might have better luck on 800 mhz with nothing more than the canonical Radio Shack 800 mhz duck barreled to the end of some coax as a quick start!

I don't see why you couldn't add an 800mhz dipole across the feed . Kind of a 'fan dipole'. That short length of wire or tubing certainly won't affect the other elements. Will it help, I dunno! It _might_.
