Off road rig Motorolas.

My Motorola's in an older Suburban. I have had these in here for about 4 years now. NMO antennas for UHF/VHF and satphone on the roof. Motorola CDM1550LS+ in the console and Saber/SVA for VHF.

Paint is getting rough and ready for bed liner this summer.

Has worked great for camping, and off-roading in the local area. NMO mounts have never leaked, the large ground plane helps the radios transmit with low SWR. UHF Laird Phantom antenna lets me tune most of the UHF band between 400-460MHz. VHF is a cheap Laird 1/4 whip.

Here is the picture of the CDM1550LS+ mounted in the console. I need to add a CB radio in here, the old one failed and just shopping for a new one.

I mounted it to the console mount on the inside. Keeps it out of site and yet accessible.

Very Nice setup. Laird is a good antenna to use.

I've wanted to see an off-road setup using Motorola for a while now!!

What frequencies do you use for off-roading? Are there any common ones?
