Sign and circulate this, guys. It's to keep bad guys who're on probation locked up if they're re-arrested. Like cop killers.

Chad's Law Petition

Bahahaha, you have no idea how bad it is. Go to a superior court on plea days and you will see case after case where the career criminal pleads guilty and the judge gives them 10 years......on probation.
Our criminal justice system is a total joke....especially in places like Athens where most of the voters are very liberal and vote in a DA who dismissed over 600 felony cases last year and 99% of the rest he recommends probation. (these aren't DUI's and speeders, these are crack dealers, felons with guns, career criminals).
You also have voters in Athens who vote in the most liberal judges in the state who are very soft on crime.

I was a cop in Athens and the system there is a total joke, maybe thats why so many officers leave after only a year or two.
Being a cop in Athens is pretty much futile...its a catch and release county....and Atlanta isnt much better with their rocket docket....which is where anything short of murder or rape and its just about guaranteed probation...no prison time.
Probation should be for misdemeanors NOT career criminal thugs.

Here is a typical example, something I saw all the time:
Joe Criminal is 27 years old...he is a convicted felon two times over, once for possession of cocaine when he was 20 (he got 4 years felony probation) and a year later while on probation he gets caught driving a stolen car and carrying marijuana. In exchange for a guilty plea the state (your DA) chooses to not even prosecute him on the probation violation which alone would send him to prison...and gives him 60 days in county jail for the car/dope and 4 additional years on probation.
I saw this everyday and criminals know exactly how to use it to their advantage. They know most charges are a joke and just a short time in jail with some easy probation.

Now go to a rural county and its the exact opposite, the DA and judge will throw the book at you and send you to prison for even most first offense felonies.
