The suspect in the Pendleton shooting that killed a police dog and injured two officers has been found dead, Pendleton Police Chief Marc Farrer confirmed this morning. An innocent bystander caught in the crossfire, who has not been identified, was also found dead at the scene.
The suspect, Jim Kenneth Bailey, 59, New Castle, shot himself, Farrer said in a live TV interview. Farrer said the civilian, who was termed an innocent victim who was driving in the wrong place a the wrong time, was apparently killed by gunfire from Bailey. Autopsies are pending on both men.
