Keep on hoping

kikito said:
I do have hope and think it's very possible to have some kind of firmware update to deal with this Multi-Packet issue. Even if it's just to tell the scanner to ignore the Multi-Packet messages and concentrate on decoding the active voice channels, which ironically, should be one of the few things (and most important) the scanner should care about unlike the real radios.

About the amount of VHF systems out there, I think there's over a dozen significant VHF P25 systems out there and more in the plans. The Multi-Packet type, there's less of those but it's something that many systems will get upgraded to sooner or later, so yeah, most likely the scanner manufacturers will figure out something....

Keep on hoping. It's been 2 months since the post on this subject and as of today no relief from Uniden on its website reference the missing mps comms problem. Per the latest Radio Reference email newsletter Radio Shack just released a firmware upgrade for its digital scanners. Even though not specifically discussed in the newsletter I suspect it will address the mps issue.

No, RS released that a while ago. It addresses CQPSK reception.

Turn off the scanner. While pressing HOLD, 2, 9, turn on the scanner.

Or, just use the PC software to write new systems to the scanner and include the "Erase Scanner First" checkbox.

Did you say you were going to upload your system file for us to see?

When you press hold, the active control channel should be displayed and the system ID/tower numbers, along with any talkgroup activity that may be happening on your system.

If all else fails, have someone in your area clone to your radio and see if you get the same thing.

If it says "finding control channel", it means it's looking for the control channel, but cannot find it. Are you sure you programmed in the control channel and the alternates?
