Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a little while. Site 146 was found by me messing around one night sitting at my house south of Sulphur. It has two bars on my 396 there drving around Sulphur it's hit or miss. It will find it, but no bars on the west side of Sulphur. I've been too busy to drive around. Why are they not in the FCC database like the 800mhz towers.

Hmmm, they have co-located many of the 700 repeaters on the existing 800 sites. Could this site be on the DeQuincy or Rosepine tower? Let us know if you find out.

Anybody have any news as to when the Jefferson Parish Fire departments will switch to LATIE???

I would think they are still waiting on radios for the trucks. I would be trying to get someone else to pay for them :) , so that may be it.

The other night I heard two Harvey fireman talking on the old JP analog system. The conversation was basically saying for them to switch over "to the new radio system for a minute". Just thought that the FD switch to LATIE might be coming.

Does anyone have any more talkgroups for New Orleans? I was looking them over and I seem to remember that their old Edacs system they used several years ago had a whole lot more talkgroups. Or is it just me?

I have a friend who works at LSP HQ in Baton Rouge call me today. He was issued his 700 / 800 MHz portable today. He said that most of Region 1 will be on LATIE soon. Expect Troop B, L, and C first. No news as to Troop A.

Thanks for the info Gary. I was wondering when they would switch over. Kinda the opposite of when the 800 system was rolled out 20 years ago. The state police were one of the first agencies on it back then.

Does anyone know what agency is using talkgroup 28529? It sounds like a law enforcement dispatch channel. I am hearing it off one of the towers that I can receive in Lafayette, however the addresses that the dispatcher gives are all in the New Orleans area on the East side of town like Pecan St., Ashley St., Hwy 47.

Jefferson Parish FD's now on LATIE

For those who may be interested, most of the Fire Dept's on the East & West Bank have switched over to the LATIE 700 Mhz system as of today. The only exception is Kenner FD & David Crockett VFD; they still remain on their own respective 800 systems. Info is in the database, and they appear to be using the New Orleans Metro Simulcast North site, which is same site for NOFD.

Yep...I heard them first thing this morning doing a radio test on the Jefferson Fire Alarm Talk Group. I t sure will be nice to have them on digital instead of the old analog system. Digitial has much better audio!

Anybody hearing Troop B dispatch (talkgroup 5020) on LATIE? I programmed the control channels for the New Orleans Downtown system (LSP site correct?) and have yet to receive them.

Latie Question

Simple question. If I get a Uniden 396 will it be able to pick up the new 700 meg LATIE system in louisiana? Or is it going to be encrypted?

Secondly I am a radio engineer in lafayette, la . I have a transmitter site that they have just installed the 700 meg system at. I am going to try and get the freqs and post them. I dont see them listed on this site unless they are listed as unk. It right out of parks ,la.
