From the October 2011 WCC meeting minutes

A request also came from the City of Byram Fire Department to buy MSWIN compatible equipment. The request was less than $250,000 which does not require full Commission approval. The last was a request from the City of Pearl Police and Fire Departments for $555,454.80 to replace obsolete radios. The new equipment will allow the Police and Fire Departments to use MSWIN for primary communications with the Rankin County system as their backup. Representatives from the City of Pearl were present for questions from the Commission. The Procurement Review Committee recommended approval for the City of Pearl request. Mr. Harkins made a motion for approval. The motion was seconded by Mr. Tom Lariviere and passed with none opposed

So everyone be on the lookout for new TG's from those areas.

43009 and 43011 - Seen these a few times now over the past few months during ducting from the Bay Springs tower. Caught some traffic this morning about a vehicle vs. horse incident and sending someone to Montrose to handle it. Also heard one unit refer to the other party as "SO"(RID 1345101) once too. Leaning towards this possibly being Jasper Co. SO? All RID's logged (7 so far) on both TG's are in the 13451## block. Need someone closer and with more reliable monitoring conditions than me to check it out.

Good deal. I looked through my recordings after posting above and did have one key up on 43021 also but no legible traffic on it and no RID captured.

MFC talkgroups are starting to come to life in the 216xx(Zone 1) and 226xx(Zone 2) blocks. RID's all in the 403xxx block so far. Wiggins dispatch and few George, Jackson, and Harrison county units heard here so far.

Cool, and now with just that one TG added to what I've seen so far I can now see a pattern starting to form.

21611 seems like it is going to be Southeast Dispatch(Wiggins) with 21613, 21615 (affliations only) and 21617 (IDed on air as Fireground 2). One could now assume the Southwest district will follow the same pattern with a 0 as the 4th digit. Though I've logged affliations on 21602 and 21604 here also. so.....

I've also gotten affliations on 22601, 22603, and 22621 so far. I'll make a wild guess those will be for the Capital District since all sites in that district have been 100% active for quite a while now and the same can't be said for all the sites in the South Central District.

Should be a great time for everyone to catch more in the coming days, since most folks seem to do a lot of channel flipping during the first few days. So fire up Pro96Com and keep it running as much as you can and chime in with your findings. Seems things are about to get interesting once again after a bit of a dry spell.

TG 13053 (encrypted) seems to be MHP Special Ops, was used heavily during the prison riot at Natchez.

WOOT! Glad to see someone besides me submit something(Byram TG's) :p:twisted:

On the 42654 though. Are we sure that's a FD SE?
4265x is pretty obviously PD channels and the FD chanels appear to be in the 4266x block per the newly entered info. Thankfully the folks in charge of generating the TG's on this system are doing it in a very well organized manner, and that fact serves as a great clue to determining TG usage from our standpoint.

Also, "Event" channels are generally considered INTEROP, so I'm thinking this may be more properly considered as a general "Byram SE" channel. IOW not really belonging to a specific agency.

Another recent example of what I mean can be seen in the City of Pearl TG's I recently submitted.(and several other locals as well for that matter)
46651 is certainly the PD's main channel, and 46653 is most certainly for their usage as well, though the exact usage is yet unknown. (likely either Car-Car or TAC)
Then there is the 46671 and 91 that I've also logged. We, or at least I, now know 466xx is certainly City of Pearl TG's, but not sure exactly what those two are yet. The top candidates for those two are that one is Fire(likely the 4667x block I'm betting) and the other is possibly EMS.

Not trying to be critical at all, just trying to share some knowledge/insight :) As referred to in my above post about the MFC TG's, once you have enough data points, then patterns start to show up. The patterns vary from place to place, but there is always some pattern to be found. Case in point, the MHP TG's (among others) and how they are related to the zones they are assigned to. 120xx being Zone 1, 130xx being Zone 2, and 140xx being Zone 3.

Have noticed a bit of activity recently on the following TG's...

23653, 23655, and 13404. I've also heard a pretty good bit of other traffic on some of the already known TG's as well, such as MHP dist 5 car to car, MFC, MDOT, etc...

I am hearing these through one of the towers located in Monroe county.

Hmmm, this TG just went active on site 144 a few minutes ago. (encrypted as you also observed.)

Got 1 or 2 Troop C, J, and H along with some other un-IDed RID's all affiliated on this TG on 144. No idea what that is all about....

There are about 40 MHP units from northern districts helping with Isaac issues. Since they do not appear to be using D8 Dispatch (Troop K), maybe that is the talkgroup they are all using.

I have seen them come and go by the dozens in Harrison County today.
