Our ARC83-lite software (only $19.95) for RadioShack PRO83 will be available December 10th 2004.

THANKS!!!

The ScanCat demo looked rushed and "ungenuine". It is slow and has much leftovers from other radios supported in the software.

The demo is less of a demo than it is a powerpoint show:)

Basicly just wondering if I can search all the bands at once while in signal stalker mode not just one specific freq range.
thanks

Yes. All you do is turn them all on in the setup.

The "setup" is a little confusing. I'm not sure if all bands are set to "on". I can't think of a way to check or test to see if they are all on. It would be a bummer if UHF & VHF were not both on!

Go into the setup and scroll through them and see what ones are turned on and off. Starts on pg32 in the manual.

I just updated our website with some info and screenshots of the new ARC83-lite software for PRO83.

Gommert

Checked the website out, looks interesting. But the link to the .pdf software manual doesn't work.

I concur w/ pdf problem...

Is the cable "IF2B" for Radioshack PRO96 the same for the PRO-83?

I bet it is but it has that XMIT lead on it...

Also is everyone positive the PRO-83 is a recieve only device as far as the serial interface goes?

well that manual is not finished yet.

The IF2B works with Pro83/99/96/92 etc.

The software works with any PRO compatible interface. The PRO83 is programming only, you can NOT read data from the scanner, so one way cable will work.

Sorry... I meant is there any reason why the 2way cable will not work even though the radio may be one way. This way I do not have to "buy" more cables...

Thanks

only one way?? LAME!!

Yeah, I'd much prefer two-way, but gotta look on the bright side, the BC92 doesn't have any programming capability at all.

Most of the later model ham rigs I own or use are download only, but it sure makes filling all those channels and alpha tags easier.

I think this glass is half full!

ARC83-lite software and PRO83 alpha tags

Does the PRO83 support alpha tag display? Will the ARC83-lite software for PRO83 send tags to the unit?

Thanks,
Don

OK, here's a problem I've never seen addressed. On page 52 it shows the cable connection. My problem is that I have no empty ports in the back of my computer. I am getting a 96 soon, but how the heck can I plug the scanner(s) into my PC? One more question. I figured out how to do a search from 450.00 to 451.00 (chain search mode), but how could I do 153.00 to 156.00? There is no bank for that range in chain search.

Thanks in advance

Jerry

Umm one way to fix the PC issue... add more ports, or if you can find a hub that can be used... non USB on the hub.. not sure on brands,.. but there has to still be non USB supported hubs somewhere out there...
