LTR Repeater ID

I am interested in the LTR Repeater ID function. Is this exactly the same as the PRO-92 and PRO-2067 in which it displays the ID and Home Channel Number when in the manual mode? Somewhere I read that it is more Uniden like in this regard. If so, how does it differ from the Unidens in this aspect? I have a BC-796 now and I would like to map out some LTR systems, but I had some difficulty determining the Home Channel Numbers. It sounds like this will be the best tool yet for mapping the LTR systems.

Just wanting to confirm, you can program the ctcss into a channel, right? I haven't DLed the manual to read for myself.

I want to doublecheck before I see about getting one as a gift for someone who needs ctcss decoding.

Thanks.....................:)

No, the PRO-97 LTR tracking method is different than the 92/2067.
You need to have the home channel numbers in the correct Logical Channel Number. You use the Repeater number finder as shown above to identify the home repeater, then put the frequency in the associated channel from channel x01 to x20. (x is the bank number)

In the PRO-92/2067 you just put the frequency in any channel you wanted.

Yes, you can program the CTCSS/DCS code per conventional channel or do a search. The "preliminary" manual is on the FCC site and the yahoo PRO-97 group in the files section. RadioShack has yet to put the manual online.

Thanks, I'm on dial-up at home so I was waiting to DL the manual at work or the G/F's house.

Nice scanner! I was wondering how much it costs? Is it a Radio Shack brand scanner or a Uniden? Where can someone purchase it I'm just interested in the price and features of the model which you have good features and details on it.

Ok, one more. How about Signal Stalker in the Mil-Air Band
Was that a real mil air hit (i.e. did you hear the actual traffic), or was that a false positive?

Thanks for all the pics, very nice.

Just a capture of Signal Stalker searching in the Mil-Air band. The display is showing the process of running through that band of frequencies.

The Mil-Air band is split up between bands 3 and 4 on the display.

Regarding the sensitivity for the mil air range - I have no trouble picking up Aerial Refueling operations on my Yaesu VR-500 with just a whip, and its sensitivity in the 225 - 370 MHz AM range is 1 uV (likely similar to this radio according to previous posts). So that is definitely good enough to hear something.

ALSO: what is the scan speed (channels/sec?)
(Never fails, found it right after I posted - 60 ch/sec)

they will be 199.99 same as the pro-95 was before it was marked down.

Actually I the 95 was $249.99 before going to 199- so this is a good deal.

Is the PL/DPL Instantaneous?

As posted above, I am wondering if the PL/DPL display is instantaneous when searching, or does it step through the PL tones like the BC796? Also, does the user need to select either Pl or DPL or does it just display whichever one is decoded?

Does the PRO 97 have Alphanumeric display on it just like the PRO 95, the PRO 92 and the PRO 96?
