Beta Testers are recieving the 97's soon. I was informed that I live in too much of a rural area to be considered a accurate tester.. LOL Oh if only I could drag em all out with me sometimes to hear just what I can ....

Anyway!

Yep, I feel the same way. They probably think I live in an igloo here in Alaska with polar bears "cruising" past my ice house.

If they only knew that due to the remoteness of this state, we probably have, use and rely on more technology (especially communications) than many places in the Lower 48.

Heck, by the Census 2000, Alaska had 100,000 more people than Wyoming and not that much less than the Dakotas and Montana.

Sorry for the off-topic tangent

It's the feature that locks on to a nearby active frequency without it being programmed in.

Pro-97 available at most RS stores

Just to let everyone know...the 97 should be available at any of your local RadioShack stores, for special order. I should know...I work for RS in Frederick, MD. Go into your neighborhood store and ask the associate to process a "direct-2-you" order. No charge for shipping! I'm getting mine next month. Any other questions you want to ask an "insider?" Email me...

Regards,

can't see the 97 on radio shack site?

Yea, looks like RadioShack is trying to get rid of the PRO-95 and PRO-99 first before releasing it to the web site.

The Signal Stalker is working great by the way. Some Kids running around in the hotel I stayed at Saturday had FRS radios. It made a great test op for the Signal Stalker. Signal locks on is displayed and the audio is played at the same time, nice.

Can someone tell me what the manual specs are for Milair. It doesn't appear in the draft manual.

I'll repost what I had found in the manual:
The manual says 216-225 3uV, 406-512 2uV.

RS is NOT discontinuing the PRO-99.... It just hit shelves a year ago!

They are killing the 94's, 95's and 2052's.

They also are about to put the current base only rurual on the blocks, and that other lil HH too... GRE, and Uniden are going to be putting new RS models out in the next year to replace them.

The Pro-95 and 2052 have officially been discontinued. What's out there is all there will be. Get them while you can!

I just got mine!

UPS delivered my Pro97 today. Ive been playing with the programming all day. There is a definate learning curve with this scanner but I think it will be great once I get it figured out.

I did order a 246 this afternoon also. I think it would be good to compare these two scanners and see what shakes out.

I will post more information once I have this thing programmed and I have played with it for a couple of days.
