I too got my pro 97 yesterday first thing, I noticed was it seems to receive alot better than my pro 95. I love the military air cabablity now just need to compare the sensitivity to my pro 43. All in all a great scanner like the extended alpha tag ablity for the radio makes it able to enter the full text tags instead of abbrevations so much. I too will let you know more have to test the signal stalker against my 246's close call. the only thing I do not like about the 97 is having to program it by hand makes me really respect Don's software not to mention alot easier programming.

Hi all,

In the draft manual it states that the Pro-97 can receive VHF-Hi in 5/6.25/7.5 KHz steps. I was curious if anyone (that has one) has entered one of the hi band mil freqs like 173.5875 and if the 97 truncates the freq to 173.5900 like all of the previous RS models have done in the past. It would be nice to see that RS has made that bandplan part of the firmware now (even though most of those freqs will be APCO25 soon).

Thanks!

The 96, and 97 both display the right freq. The 95 will also with Win95.

Even though the 93, and 92's show the fourth space, they only display the full freq for UHF, and 800/900. The 83 is the same way....

Enter 155.6175.. it displays as 155.615.
155.8725 displays as 155.870

On the 96, and 97's it shows the right one.

Thanks MILF,

I have a Pro-96 and for me when I input 173.5875 it will show on the display as 173.5900? Did you get a mod on your Pro-96? Anyways, I agree with you on the 155MHz range but RS scanners have been notorious for rounding the frequency in the 163-174 MHz range to a 5KHz step instead of the 12.5KHz step that is used there. Try putting in 173.5875 into your Pro-97 and let me know what happens after you press ENTER. Thanks alot!

Ordered Mine Today. I need Win97

I ordered mine today before my mgr left. I work at RS and I love that employee discount. It makes it much easier to convince the wife to let me buy new toys (scanners mostly)
I cant wait until win97 comes out. I hope it has the web import like win96

I couldn't wait any longer. I ordered one at RS today. They said I should have it in five days. I will have to call later to get a tracking number for it.

Mine only took two days thats with standard ground shipping I was impressed. The audio level on the pro 97 is wonderful another one of many reasons I love this scanner.

Thats because it is coming from Texas. TX to OK is short hop. Mine is coming to Ohio. Mine will be here on Thursday. I ordered it friday evening. It was shipped Monday 3/14. Checking UPS.com shows a delivery of 3/17.

Probaby 2-3 weeks. I had to add... (see below)

How much will it be?
Haven't decided yet, but I'm guessing $20.

Assuming you mean "like Win96" ;) - yes. This is what I'm adding. I essentially took what I already had, trashed it, and started over. Some work was preserved, but I moved most of the code over (again) from Win96.

That is great news Don. Thanks again for what I am sure to be a great program. Any chance of an update for 92,93, and 95 that has the centering for tags like on WIN96 and 99?

re: 97's in store?

It looks as if te 97s will stay out of the stores [and off the website] for a little while at least. I would imagine that Ft. Worth is trying to sell through as many of the 95s as possible before the 97s show up.

Remember, Direct2You is always an option, as long as the item you want is in the warehouse.

It looks that way. The PRO 95 is still available for Direct2U also. That means that have plenty left in Ft Worth.

Pro97 - Got Mine!

I ordered my new Pro97 this past Saturday, March 12th. and had it yesterday, Wednesday morning March 16th. I was so excited about it that I took my battery pack out of my Pro95 and placed in in the Pro97 so I could check it out immediately.

I will play with it more in the next day or so. :D
