Web Import error

On my work Desktop/network I get the Win500 error below whenever I hit the Start button.
"The HTTP (web) request returned error 403. Please ensure that your Internet connection is ready."
It works on a PC off that network. Is there a specific port that is used?

Win500 uses the Internet Explorer settings to access the RR database server. Is IE set up correctly (can you use IE to "browse")? One thing to look at might be any proxy settings required by your environment.

Yes I can use IE to browse. There is a firewall and there are proxy settings.

While waiting for my new PSR-600 to arrive, I'm playing with Win500. Looks very impressive so far.
Love the remote control, had a peek at Don's 600 via the client, very cool!

Quick question, any chance of there being client software for Windows Mobile?
I'd love to use this on my Windows Mobile device.

Also, can somone point me to the format info for a .csv file to import?

Thanks,

Steve

I'm playing around with a WM client now. It's nowhere near complete, though. It will likely appear on the Win500 web page eventually.

Win500 does not currently import CSV files.

Sound Recording Feature Request/Question

Does the audio recording feature use the audio input to trigger recording or the active channel/talkgroup feed from the data path?

Is there a way to add a feature to generate a mono wav stream from one side of the stereo input? I have a scanner and a mobile transceiver hooked to the same audio input. I use Scanner Recorder Pro to record the analog transceiver data from one side of the stereo input and I plan on using the other side of the stereo input to record with win500. Scanner Recorder Pro has this feature where you can record only one of the stereo channels into a mono output so you can use a single soundcard input to record two scanners/radios at the same time. Could you please add a feature that would generate the mono stream from one of the stereo channels in win500?

Thanks!

Separate LCD Window Title Bar Bug

Hji Don,

I think I found a bug in the Separate LCD Window.

Version 1.57 Revision: # 3 is not working properly for digital (DG) talkgroups on the Motorola Type II SmartZone Omnilink TRS (Analog and APCO-25 Common Air Interface) I monitor (Indiana SAFE-T). The applicable coded squelch or "radio ID" information does not show in the "Separate LCD Window” title bar during the transmission. What happens is the information will pop up only for a very quick and almost imperceptible instant at the end of the hold time on the digital talkgroup.

It does work as advertized for analog talkgroups (VC) and conventional channels; during an analog transmission, the title bar shows the coded squelch and radio ID (or channel number if set to show instead of "TSYS" when radio ID isn’t decoded).

Recording is triggered by data from the PC/IF port that indicates a transmission is starting/ending.

Not at present. The audio functions I'm using don't allow me to split the input into L/R channels. I'll investigate it though, to see how much work it would be to change things.

Under the SRCH/SWPR Objects tab ... I have entered about 20 short searches. The original info that was there when you have no entries (Group/Channels .. selection not available for the object etc.) covers the entered search frequencies. Am I missing something. Is it only suppose to have a lesser number of search ranges?

Thanks

The options in the "Groups / Channels" box below the "grid" change depending on the type of search / sweeper object selected in the grid itself.

Help with Tsys Object " Type"

In the Win500 file there is a tab called " Tsys Object" in that folder there is another tab that is " Type" in that field It asks for the different types? Iam not sure what type to select for the desired frequency. I have an option to choose, EDACS STD, EDACS Narrow, LTR, P25 AUTO, P25 Narrow. How do I find out which of options to put into the Type box? Is there a way to know what this box needing? Most of my frequencies that I am programming in are in the 867.3375 or 488.7250 or 866.2250 range-trunking. Can some one please explain how I find out the "type" so I know what to put into that box.

Thanks
