Well..... I don't know what I did wrong, but when I tried to read the Pro-96 info I kept getting dialog boxes say that "such & such" was not in a certain format... or "So & So" needed to be changed.

I did get info onto the Pro-106/Win500, but Not everything is the same.

I thought it would all be automated and easy.... but it wasn't.

I may try to go thru the entire process again and pay more attention to what the dialog boxes said to ask for more assistance from anyone who has gone thru this excahnge of files/info.

Very possible.

You can also suck the data from PC/IF of a 96/2096 directly to the software. It too will go bank by bank to scanlist of choice.

Tabs in TGRP window

Don, I can't read the tabs for the this area. I can figure out the spot for the object id, tg's, led color, and delay. But, that is it. I use a 20" monitor, so that is not the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?
TIA,
Larry

Your screen setting is likely to low. Win500 is perfect on a 22" screen set to 1680x1050 @ 96DPI.

How would I reset the screen size?
TIA,
Larry

Played with the display settings. Didn't make a change in the tab section just above the TGRP window.

I'm not sure what you mean by "tabs". I suspect you mean the "column headers" in the TGRP grid, but there are also "tabs" that select what type of data you're currently viewing ("General Settings", etc.).

If you could supply a small screen shot, it would help.

win500 help

I just got win500 and bought a premium subscription from RR. Is there detailed instructions on how to get a data from RR imported into my new 106. I am totally new to this. I know I want the database for Westchester NY. But can't seem to get it from RR to my scanner.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will try to send a screen shot. But, yes it is the 'column headers' in the TGRP grid.
Thanks for responding DonS.

Right click in empty spot on your desktop. Select Properties then Settings. Run the slider up on the Screen resolution. Then select the Advanced button for DPI check. I like Normal: 96 DPI but some prefer Large 120 DPI.

Tried it more than once. Didn't make a difference. The column heading stayed the same.

Since you never posted a screen shot I'll take a WAG and assume that the column headers are TOO NARROW. If this is the case, it's real easy to resize the columns by placing the cursor over the right boundary of any column head. Click & hold while resizing the column width. The new width will remain the same until changed or a new copy of the .ini file is installed.

Refer to post# 991. I made it an attatchment. I tried that before posting. It's not the width that is the problem.

SRVC Search For Railroads ?

Hello,

Have a 500.

A bit unclear how to set up a SRVC Search for "Railroads"

I see the message: "Groups/channels selection not available for the object type selected above when no
objects selected, or multiple objects are selected"

Huh ?

What does this mean, please ?

Does one enter, somewhere, frequencies to be scanned when one sets up for SRVC Railroad, as is done for Marine service search, etc. Or, specifying freq's, or freq. ranges, not required for Railroads ?

Thanks,
Bob

The objective is to get it from RR to Win500, then to the scanner.

I'll start with the assumption that you want to import Westchester Co trunk Smartzone.
1. In Win500 click on Files>Web import>RadioReference.com>Trunked systems.
2. Log in using your RR user name and ID and click Start button
3. Using Pulldowns, Select Country>State>County
4.In System pulldown select Westchester County Public Safety
5. Tick Sites box for frequencies to import (this should indicate a number 2 on bottom of dialog next to Selected Channels) (this is a control channel only radio so only controls are used) BTW, a click on the plus (+) next to Sites will reveal the frequencies checked.
6. Expand the + next to talkgroups and tick which agencies you wish to import (you may check all agencies in the database if desired by ticking the block next to Talkgroup Group: 8 (if you do this, the number 80 will be on bottom row next to talkgroup)
9.On right center click Import this system
10. Key in Westchester CO in System box at top
11. Use Target Scanlist pulldown to anything but 00. I used Scanlist 01
12. If desired, tick the Wildcard box and Notes box
13. Use default First 16 character is best
14. Click OK at top right then close Web Import Dialog and click on TSYS Objects tab to reveal your hard work. :>)
