Okay, I see one more thing that could be extremely useful here.

Say I want to import 'Welcome text' and 'Alert, Sound, Light, Display' settings only, but I want to leave 'Scan Lists' alone. I'd be cool if I could have a set of check boxes along with the merge dialog to allow me to include and exclude specific categories.

sorting system frequencies

Is there a method of sorting system frequencies of TSYS objects? I have several entered and if I could manage to sort them in numerical sequence that would be helpful.

I didn't get a chance to play with the merge last night. But based on the above comments, 'Scan Lists' should not be merged across files. Each file represents a different V Scanner, and so one would expect the Scan Lists to stay different across files.

Every new file created in my case will include several current Scan list. These are get out of town list or one is even get out of state.

Of course, these same list will bring us back home as in a recent trip to Philly over Thanksgiving which actually used 10 both directions - 6 outbound and 4 additional on inbound leg. Two list were constant in both directions.

Open System Frequency dialog, highlight and copy (Ctrl + c) open spread sheet and paste. Sort as needed, highlight and copy new sorted data and return to frequency dialog to paste (Ctrl + v).

"Nothing Enabled!" after download

I downloaded several trunked systems from the Evansville, IN RR page. Had no trouble getting some trunked systems to download into the computer and download into the GRE 600 scanner. I am using Win500. When I go to the scanner and have it scan, it says "nothing enabled!". What am I doing wrong?. I can see the systems in the scanner, but it will not scan.

Welcome to the forum.

During import you may have missed the Scanlist pulldown in Win500 for assignment of talkgroup objects to a Scanlist.

Frank, thanks for the suggestion. I would not have thought of doing that. I guess what I was hoping for was a programmatic solution for sorting the system frequencies (just as all the other fields are able to be sorted) in ascending or descending sequence. I suppose I should have requested (or suggested) a program update rather than a "work-around" solution. I would much rather be able to sort the frequencies with two mouse clicks than by the method you suggest.

Web Import skip Encrypted Talkgroups?

Sorry if this has already been asked...I searched but did not find...
Is there a way to prevent Encrypted talkgroups in a P25 system from being Imported using the Web Import from RR database function? I'm currently evaluating a few apps and noticed that PSREdit has that option, but I'd love to be able to do that in WIN500. Is it possible?
Thanks!

Don,

One thing I've found difficult in the general setting tab is naming the scan lists and writing the welcome screen text. When Win500 is in the small screen view these areas, along with the battery settings and quick text, are difficult to use as they are compressed. Using the horizontal view bar is not straight forward, especially when trying to center the text on the welcome message. It is understandable that these areas have to be compressed in the small screen view, but they stay the same size in the larger screen view also. Is there a way to expand the entire general settings tab area when the larger screen view on the monitor screen is selected? If this were done in order to expand the four areas I mentioned to the point where the horizontal bar is unnecessary it would be very helpful.

Unfortunately, it's quite difficult to resize those "grids" without also messing up a bunch of other controls. Even in the tabs where grids are resized as you resize the main window (e.g. CONV, TSYS, etc.), I have to explicitly reposition every other affected control. For example, when you change the width of the main window, the TGRP grid stretches/shrinks horizontally - I have to explicitly move all of the TGRP setting controls to the right of that grid.

On the General Settings tab, that would mean moving an awful lot of controls around.

You may be able to adjust the "list row height" (Configuration, User Interface) so that the grids don't have scroll bars. This will, though, affect the heights of rows in every other grid in the program.
