OK here is a question for DonS: When importing from the Pro96 scanner into Win500 will the trunking table be imported also? Could that be the Opp's problem? Thanks

Software problem??? Maybe, maybe not, need help.

Still trying to load up my scanner via this software but keep getting:" A connection with server could not be established". What does that mean?? I have a live internet connection, so are we referring to the rrweb-site data-base??? My rrhas been updated and I have a premium membership.....Two day of trying to set-up my new radio...Also upon trying the psr-edit500 software I get an error message: "Unable to load wsdl file. Error mt document...........what the heck does this mean???? anybody???{whew].....This is the worst kind of problem to have when you know everyone else seems to be doing ok with it....The only clue I may have is my AVG protection, firewall, anti-virus, etc. etc....maybe this is holding my progress....I have sent some e-mail in other directions seeking a solution ....hopefully,///bilmont

Hello I use Win500 and my firewall asked if I wanted to allow connection, and you must allow if you want to download from RR.Check your firewall settings, good luck!

Upload issue to PSR500

Hi Don,

Actually, I don't know whether this is a software OR hardware problem.

Using the WIN500 software I created several new files (nothing special about them...just the usual stuff). I plugged my laptop into the scanner, went to the Virtual Scanner under the drop down and hit the refresh button. The display did its usual thing and showed me what files were where. Because I have created New files...I wanted to re-arrange them. I selected the "write" and picked a file for each one I wanted to upload, just as I always have. (I also selected "clear" for two of the existing files)

Here's where I ran into a problem. I selected about 8 files to upload, each in the spot I wanted and hit "commit." The first packet starting loading, stopped mid-way, started loading from the beginning again got half way through and then it crashed.

I repeated the process, selected the eight files to upload...same thing happened.

"Cleared" two of the spots separately, all went fine.

Reduced it to 5 files..tried again...

Then tried three files.....

Finally, two files...and it worked.

Is there an issue with uploading more than two files at once?

I was able to upload everything, just only two files at a time. Item for QA?

Thanks in advance

I just downloaded, saved, then re-uploaded all 21 V-Scanner folders using Win500 (download and upload operations were all 21 files in one shot). I don't think there's an inherent problem in Win500 that would cause a failure (that is, I haven't heard about any such problems in the last year or so).

Could you post the steps for uploading V-folders to the scanner please.
I've had problems getting them to go into to the scanner, but no crashes. I'm thinking I'm missing a step or something. And might help the original poster as well.

I just looked at a southern California V File I wrote, found a Caltrans (CA Dept of Transportation) Motorola trunked system, and discovered all the talkgroups listed were 00-000. I imported this one and concluded that the error is no doubt mine. But then I realized this is a Motorola hybrid system shared by 3 different different Caltrans districts. Two of them are Type II systems as all their talkgroups are in the Type II format, i.e. 52836 etc. However, one district, the one that first converted to this trunked system, has Type I talkgroups, i.e. 00-010 etc.

I looked for a way to input a hybrid Motorola system and did not find it in the software. Don, or anyone else, can you lead me to the solution? Does the PSR-500/600 not allow for this? I know in many places that Type I's disappeared long ago, but the radio and the software allows setting up parameters to monitor one, so I can't imagine that the radio and/or Win500 does not accommodate a TI/TII hybrid. The error must be mine - just let me know what it is.

Frank does this mean you can upload into the 106 directly from the PRO-96? I don't own one of the new RS scanners. I was asked to help a freidn program his so I imported our PRO-96 file into Win500 and uploaded the conversion into the new RS scanner. He hears the conventional agencies but not the P25 agencies even after slecting P25 on import.

Assuming you mean converting Win96 files into Win500 software.

1. With cable plugged in at both ends, click Configuration Menu and select "find PSR-500/600 Serial Port". When dialog comes up, click Yes.
2. Click on Scanner Menu and select "Upload to Scanner".

Come to think of it, steps 1 and 2 works even if you downloaded from the Pro-96.

As far as the scanners are concerned, there are two kinds of Motorola trunked system - Type I and Type II. The so-called "hybrids" including Type IIi have to be programmed as Type I with fleetmaps. The only apparent difference (again, from the scanner's point of view) is that some of a Type IIi system's blocks are "size" Type II.

This can be confusing for someone who knows how Motorola trunking is supposed to operate. Unfortunately, the scanners don't speak Motorola, they speak scanner. :D

How to upload Pro 106

Just purchased Pro 106 and Win500. I had Pro 96 and Win96 and was very easy to upload. Not sure how to do so with 106 and manual is not very helpful. I have interface cable and have downloaded freqs from RR. Any assistance would be helpful. Thanks

Remote monitoring

My apologies if this is addressed elsewhere...

When setting up remote monitoring, what server or IP address would I push it to?
I have used "streamwebtown" in the past, is there a way to push it to that?

Many thanks,

Mike
