Frank does this mean you can upload into the 106 directly from the PRO-96? I don't own one of the new RS scanners. I was asked to help a friend program his so I imported our PRO-96 file into Win500 and uploaded the conversion into the new RS scanner. He hears the conventional agencies but not the P25 agencies even after selecting P25 on import.

I enabled scan lists for all trunking banks. The trunking data (talk groups) imported into lists. The PRO-106 doesn't want to scan. Is there something else in the conversion froma P96 file that has to be done?

I really don't understand the DWELL function? Can some body help me?
"DWELL" in a PSR-500 (or PRO-106) TSYS object controls how long the scanner stays on a control channel looking for talkgroups to monitor before either leaving the TSYS or moving on to a new control channel.

Does display appear similar to this? Also, can you provide a list of banks with System Types for each.

What does "doesn't want to scan" mean? Does the scanner show "Nothing Enabled" when you hit the SCAN key, or does it show "Scanning" and cycle through all of the trunked system names on line 4 of the LCD?

Flashing LED column?!

Don,

I upgraded to verision 1.72 on win500. Now my flashing LED column is very large and will not let me resize it to a normal range.

Any help is better then guessing.

I presume "flashing LED column" refers to the column named "Flash LED" in the CONV and TGRP grids (and maybe the SRCH/SWPR grid)?

If so, you should be able to drag the vertical "separator" lines in the grids' header bars - the area where the "Flash LED" text appears - to change the column's width.

Help or User manual?

Is there somewhere I could find a help file or a user manual that explains how to use the Win500 software as it relates to my Pro-106 scanner?

Question:
When importing data from RR, what is the purpose of checking that I want to create the 2 wildcards, what are they going to do during scanning vs not checking this box?

Thank You All!

Let's assume that the RR database is not entirely up to date, and that a new talkgroup has been established on the trunked system that is not listed in the RR database. Unless you have a Wildcard TGRP, the Pro-106 will only stop on the talkgroups that are explicitly listed. If you also have a Wildcard TGRP, then the Pro-106 will also stop on (new) talkgroups that are not explicitly listed. This is particularly important to know for using the pre-programmed Vscanner files. They only include some talkgroups, those for public safety agencies. If you want to listen to everything on the system including the snowplows (highway maintenance), you could simply add a Wildcard TGRP.

There's no way to do that from the PC. However, you can press and hold the "light" button on the scanner until it beeps - that will keep the backlight on indefnitely.

Can't set up TG

Made a new TSYS in Win500 for EDACS standard.
Box below says Note: there are no TG assigned to this TSYS to create a TG object click the grid header and click add new item to end. All this does is make a new TSYS. ??????
Fought this before but don't remember how I got by it.

No, it says "click on the grid header above", meaning the grid header directly above the NOTE.

OK, but where to click?
I've tried every column name and the scroll bar still nothing.

Adding a column works but not deleting. Now I have "record" but can't delete. Greyed out.

224, you actually need to click in dark gray part of the talkgroup grid. I use right click in dark gray area then select from dropdown menu either new item or new item at end.

. . . you actually need to click in dark gray part of the talkgroup grid. . .
What version of Win500 are you using? Following the instructions exactly (. . . click on the grid header above . . .) works for my copy of v. 1.72. Nothing mentioned or needed with the dark gray part.

I took a screen shot so you can see what I'm seeing. But clicking the attachment paperclip icon or manage attchments is not working. ????

I have no columns allowing me to "customize" or add a TG. I have the header columns listed as ID, record, alpha etc and immediately below that the left/right scroll bar. No grey area like under the TSYS.. yes V1.72 XP machine w SP3 where EXACTLY does one click to get the TG area to "open"?

I believe my last workaround for this was send the TSYS to the radio, create a wildcard and send it back.
