How hard would it be implement the ability to let us copy/paste not only the CONV Object or TGRP Object, but also the NOTES, LED COLOR and Scan List assignent?
All objects, TSYS, Talkgroup and Conventional will paste including scanlist. Alarms, LED, Multisite Modes, Trunking Tables, Trunk Tables settng , trunk frequencies. Hits and notes don't paste everything else does.

If using a a "save as" file, all global settings are included as they were in the first file.

An alternative would be to open "new template" in Files menu, then re click Files and select "Merge Globals From..." This will bring up a Win500 dialog to select a file to merge from. Then provide 5 pre checked items to merge (any may be unchecked). Then start Copy/Paste from other files or spreadsheet.

Excel spreadsheets can be compiled simply by copying data from database pages and pasting as "Paste Special" in Excel. Fact is, Excel 2003/2007 will copy directly from the database pages into an open Excel by clicking the Excel Data Menu and selecting "From Web" button.

One can then manipulate the data for cop/ paste to the appropriate Object section in Win500.

Adding TPRG'S

With regard to Post 1225, it some times workes and then again it will not work.

First WIN500 will not allow them to be added to the "All Objects" tab. Them I go over to the Tab "TSYS" and can do the add "Items" but surprise the program DOES NOT add them in the table on that tab but ONLY WILL ADD them to the table on the "ALL OBJECTS" tab.

Along with this I am also NOT able to edit or change the "OBJ INFO" on the "ALL OBJECTS" tab.

In addition I can NOT find a way to add "SCAN LIST" numbers to the new TGRP's.

Don't know if its me or the program BUT it does not seem to be doing what it should!

Any help out there.

Thanks,

JBuff27

Some of the things you are trying to do on the All Objects tab cannot be done there because that listing does not access all of the necessary parameters for the objects. Several (not all) things about objects must be adjusted in the appropriate tab for the type of object.

Have you checked the "Record Audio (8kHz, 8-bit WAV files)" checkbox on that Monitor/Control page?

I was going to post a really snippy answer to this question. Then I thought about it - always a good idea ;) - and realized that there are people who would need to be asked that question.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I am not one of them.

When I check the Record Audio box, the directory selection remains grayed out. I have found no log or .wav files anywhere on the hard drive after what pretended to be a recording logging session.

Click on stop to temporarily stop remote control. The directory selection should no longer be greyed out.
Make your changes, then click start again.

No surprise here. It will paste every time in Talkgroup Objects of the TSYS either by right click in dark gray area and selecting paste or by Edit menu and paste.

Fact is it will paste in Talkgroup Objects even if no TSYS is listed. Of course, you'll get zilch with these talkgroups when loaded to scanner.

Sorry bout that, my 1225 post was about New or Add objects. However, new or add objects works as stated in 1225 either by right click in dark gray area or by using Edit menu.

How do you add additional frequencies to an existing MOT TSYS? I can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks,
Eric

Is there a limitation to how many frequencies a system will accept?

There is a limit on how many frequencies a Motorola trunked system can operate at a single site, and that number is 28.

However, you only need to enter the control channels into your scanner. The trunked system sends the Motorola channel number in the channel grant message for a particular talkgroup which tunes your scanner to the proper voice frequency.

I think the number is 32 as indicated in the System Frequency bar as well as OM. This number includes LCN for ED and LTR systems.

P25 systems are also CC only so a full 32 CC frequencies can be entered.

Online broadcasting

Is there any way to set up the broadcasting so that multiple / "unlimited" people can connect to it?

I think I found a bug...or maybe an oversight.

I was trying to set up a sweep search and put it into a scan list. I could not do it from the software. Did I miss something? I could do it in the scanner.

And what about audio recording? I can't get that to work either.
EDIT: Never mind. I got that to work. (check boxes)

Other than that, I love it! :)

How do I move a trunked system and all its talkgroups from one .p500 file to another .p500 file?

Copy and paste:
1. in the "source" file, right-click on the TSYS and select "Copy"
2. in the "destination" file, right-click in the TSYS grid and select "Paste"
3. in the "source" file, right-click in the TGRP grid and select "Select All", then right-click again and select "Copy"
4. in the "destination" file, right-click in the TGRP grid and select "Paste"
