Fairly new to radio stuff. Just getting started.
Is there any way to get a copy of all the frequency data available in the database on this site(for example, the freq a fire depaetment uses in a specific area, etc) offline?

Happy to buy it, whatever.

Book?
PDF?
Database?

I just don't like relying on the internet for things. No idea why...
Did some searching on the forum here but perhaps im using the wrong terms, I'm sure im not the first to desire such a thing.

I see that there are some books on the subject but IDK which might be well regarded.

Sentinel, for the Uniden BCD/SDS series scanners, downloads the entire database and makes it available on the software, regardless of your internet connection's status. It is updated weekly.

Sentinel only has systems from RR where someone has reported a TG with an explanation of its use. It isn't allowed to enter a dummy TG in the RR database to make the system available in Sentinel, which would make it possible for people to use ID search on it and find active TG's, so it will be even more difficult for anyone to enter a valid TG into RR's database.

I guess Blanton doesn't approve if the database are available in a text format that can be easily imported in a scanner programming software.
Whistler has some restrictions in EZ-Scan that systems imported from the RR DB cannot be exported to text or csv files to stop that kind of abuse.

One of the benefits of having a Premium Subscription to Radio Reference is the ability to download both PDF and CSV files of the database. Downloading the entire database would be a huge undertaking, but you can download PDFs or CSVs of individual systems or entities.

Here is the list of Premium Subscription benefits:

It would be a huge book, and they change. Sorry, but you'll need this place.

You don't need this website to listen to a scanner. A lot of us did it before this website existed. You can take the publicly-available FCC data, use ID SEARCH, and listen and figure out what each talkgroup is. It's not hard.

I scan the radio spectrum with an SDR dongle and find Sites and brand new radio systems that are not in the database. I've documented them and have added them to the DB. There are different experience levels of users when it comes to the necessity of this website.

While I agree, it makes it nice to just plug it into sentinel and loaded it. Makes it easy adding and ditching stuff too. I was lost before I found this place. 45-50 years ago we had a crystal based scanner when I was a kid. A tad different now.

Dad got the crystals at Radio Shack as well. I used to love going there with him. Like a kid in a candy store back then with all the different stuff. Wasn't a ton to listen to IIRC. Had a CB base in my room from there I think when I was 16 with a external antenna on a two story house. Worked pretty good. All my friends had CB's in their cars along with me. Good times.
