So, I am new here. Have become very addicted to listening to my local police scanner. Today when I went to turn it on there was a red icon next to it that says "OFFLINE". Is this a temporary thing, or is my new hobby gone forever??

What feed are you referring to?

Feeds are provided by volunteers.
So this means they are in control over their feed.

If a feed is offline, it may mean any of the following:
Some feed owners only broadcast part time.
Feed Owner having temporary problems.
Feed Owner have longer term problems.
Feed Owner having other issues and stopped broadcasting for now.
Feed Owner decided to discontinue the feed.
Other????

Sometimes they put up a feed status message & sometimes not.

If there is no status message, then we do not know why the feed is offline.
