thanks so much for the reply! it makes sense now, ive heard from some of my EMT friends that some depts are only using portables for their communications. it makes sense "why" now! from what i hear it's like 97% radio coverage on the portables. from what i understand the users are issued their radio and two batteries. i guess its cheaper than paying for the mobile also?$20 per radio, per month includes up to X number of talkgroups, but I forget exactly how many.
