OHIO TUNRPIKE/HIGHWAY PATROL

I have located all of the Ohio Turnpike frequencies and PL Tones.

My question is: are they correct?
Is the trunked system in use?

I will be travelling the Turnpike often from Buffalo to Chicage and would like to be sure.

They're mostly using the conventional repeaters right now...

I can't tell you if your freqs for them are correct, unless you tell me what you have

The last time I travelled on the turnpike was 2001.
I have all my frequencies from that trip.
They all seem to agree with what this website has for conventional frequencies.

I guess my question was: is the turnpike still operating on 155.685 and 790, and are there any additional freq I should know about that I don't have.

Here's what I monitor while I travel the Turnpike...

Local EMS and Fire crews will respond to emergencies on the Turnpike, so I've programmed them in, as well...

154.935 - LEERN 1 (Law Enforcement Emergency Radio Network)
154.680 - LEERN 2
155.370 - InterCity
155.475 - Police Mutual Aid
155.685 PL 100.0 - Ohio State Highway Patrol District 10 (Turnpike)
155.685 PL 146.2 - Ohio State Highway Patrol District 10 (Turnpike)
155.790 PL 100.0 - Ohio State Highway Patrol District 10 (Turnpike)
155.790 PL 146.2 - Ohio State Highway Patrol District 10 (Turnpike)
158.985 PL 100.0 - Ohio Turnpike Commission (Maintenance Crews)

I suggest also programming in the four OSP TAC channels.

For the most part 156.7 is the statewide tone used.

I've never heard any OSP planes use those TAC channels. I've heard them on 155.370 and 154.935 a lot.

Around 10 years ago, they used 159.210 MHz., as a talkaround for some radar operations in Fulton and Williams Counties. P.L. Tone was 100.0 Hz.

I've never heard any OSP planes use those TAC channels. I've heard them on 155.370 and 154.935 a lot.

They use only the TAC channels for aircraft speed enforcement in
southwestern Ohio. They discontinued using LEERN and Intercity several years back, and no longer use F3 or F4 for aircraft. Mainly TAC 1 and on occassion TAC 4.

Still, they are available statewide and you never know when
activity might pop up on them.
