heres what happened, hit and run 25 feet south of sapulpa city limits, ohp advised, trooper 598 arrives gets info etc, troop b gets a call of a car that had hit the wall on the arkansas river bridge east bound,trooper(314)arrives and is getting info etc doing his investigation when dispatch tells him that he has the hit and run driver from sapulpa. 314 goes to jail with the drunk lady, 598 meets him there a few minutes later then goes 10-7. as far as the switch over to sapd every radio programmed by the state and city of tulsa has the ability to switch to every departments main side who are on the state system. but if tpd starts a pursuit or any other agency for that matter and they appear to be heading to another city they cant just on their own switch over, that would be very confusing to all the other units involved who are focused on driving and it would be a hassle to be driving 60 mph or greater and looking down as they scroll thru the radio to find another cities agency and you just cant go off frequency and leave the other officers in your area and your dispatcher wondering where you are etc.. also in tulsa everything on the radio is recorded, so they ask dispatch to inform the nearing city of the situation, then if it goes there the other city may take over unless tulsa has patched with the other city which can be done and sometimes is. i have heard it done several times. usually the superviser will allow 2 to 5 cars to leave the city and stay with it. once patched everything that goes over the radio is still being logged(recorded). also in some situations especially when the helicopter takes over if the pursuit leaves the city they will bring up rma 2b and advise all agencies involved to switch to rma 2b and the main side will go 10-64. basicly anything can be patched as long as its on the state system and all law enforcement on the state system have access to all main dispatch channels in their radios. you will very often hear ohp units on tcso side a and you will hear tcso calling on troop b main side, just last night i hear a frank unit(tod)on troop b main 34320, the night before a robert unit(tcso reserve) accidently keyed up on troop b main and went 10-8,then 30 second later i heard him on his tcso frequency going 10-8 and he told his dispatch if troop b asked about him to tell them it was his bad, he was on the wrong channel..........
