Sounds like someone needs some remedial training at Burns Flat. 181st & Hwy 75 would be the new location of some OHP Crown Vic parts. No injuries though.

I was at Troop hdqs. right after it happened and they said he was broadsided. So how does that qualify for remedial?? Personally I was glad the trooper was not hurt.

I'm glad he wasn't hurt. OHP deserves a lot more respect then they get. They do a lot of traffic stops by themselves most the time and everytime they do, they have to worry about some a%6%&e running them over or even killing them when they are trying to do their job. Hey drivers when you see an officer engaged in a traffice stop move over as far away as possible when passing him so he can go home to his family at the end of the shift!

man, im glad hes ok. theres a sign on the door of an office at the creek office that reads ""there are 2 kinds of people in law enforcement, state troopers, and those that wish they were."" hope the driver at fault got a proper ticket. all agencies are 10-8 in my book!

BTW i am looking for a crown vic front grill and headlight part, i need the whole piece, its the part that goes above the bumper, holds the grill and all the front lights/turn signals and parking lights etc just in case anyone knows of one.....its a 99......

You know how it is. He could have been rear ended and it still would have been "his fault" to some people. Usually when I see a trooper driving he is going too fast to take any type of evasive action. As a whole, they are not the best examples of driving habits and are strong on the "Do as I say, not as I do" mentality.

Example: Last week 2 troopers came to a rollover scene. We had already told thier dispatch that there was no patient to be found. We were doing traffic control and the crash was near a curve. We heard tires screeching around the curve and said some choice words to each other since we figured some drunk was flying around the curve about to kill us all.....NOPE...it was OHP running lights and no sirens going a LOT faster than they needed to be.

Am I glad the trooper wasn't hurt? Of course. Are all troopers like this? No. I've seen more bad examples than good from them though. If I did my own "Real Stories of the Highway Patrol" it wouldn't be so positive.

What do you do again!?

So tell me, do you go through training to criticize law enforcement? Or does it just come natually? Because I know LEO's go through extensive training to prevent situations as you described. Most of the time it is the other guys/girls fault.

And the point of that would be? To show that Highway Patrolmen are crooks? It is too bad that there are a few bad apples in the bunch.. but that shouldn't disregard your views of true law enforcement. Why criticize? Next time you see an officer.. walk up to him and say thanks! It'll make you feel better!

Why are you so judgemental to those who, i'm sure, will save your life one day? Didn't you ever learn to respect the men in blue.. or brown in this case..? In a way, they're not there to set examples.. but "To Protect and Serve." They are there for a reason.. I respect that.. and whether you think they're rollin up to a scene too fast means nothing. I know I would want him to arrive as quickly as possible to my incident.

Trust.. Respect.. Honor..

I personally responded to this call and it WAS NOT his fault. The stoopid lady had her head up her ... and pulled out hitting him t-bone. Luckily his reaction prevented it from being worse. He wasn't too happy about it either.... then the chain reaction started and this guy plows into the cars stopping for the accident causing a 3 car pile up.

I'd say the Troopers driving skills prevented any injuries in this one. Kudos to the Trooper!!!!!!!

I have sent you a PM regarding what I do and what I have done. Suffice it to say, I work in public safety now and I have worked in law enforcement in the past. Been there, done that, got the uniform shirt. So what do you do for a living?

I know it's not politcally correct to criticize law enforcement..even a little. I'm just stating an opinion based on my life experience. You don't have to agree with it or be so defensive.

To answer your question about my TV show... I never said that the OHP were crooks. I have no knowledge of them being "crooks". I have some knowledge of them doing some pretty bad things, but stealing is not one of them.

Also, them driving too fast means nothing? OK, I glad you don't have to tell my wife that I'm not coming home because someone driving reckless and too fast ran me over because he or she couldn't stop. She wouldn't look to kindly upon you. I also hope you tell the OHP that when you are flying down the highway and get stopped next time. I would want them to arrive quickly to me incident too, but more important, I would want them to arrive safely and I darn sure wouldn't have to work a second crash.

I would have to disagree with you when you say that law enforcement is not there to set an example. I would have to say that almost every mayor, city council, police chief, and sheriff would disagree with you too. As a matter of fact, "setting a good example" is one of the TOP priorities of ANY professional law enforcement agency. Ever heard of the words "conduct unbecoming"? You get that by not setting a good example, both on AND off duty. Many cops knows what I speak of, for sure.

To close, I am possibly a little more judgemental than some because I actually have gone out there and done the job. I didn't like what I saw so I got out of the business. I think a lot of folks only hear one side of the story. I'm here to tell both, because I have walked a mile or two in thier shoes.

This is all I am going to say on this in the public forum. People should feel free to PM me if they have any more questions or comments.
