Sounds like a real bad one near the Casino or in Catoosa area.

OHP (I think -- didn't see talkgroup #) [edit re:secretsquirrel...] reporting bad wreck near Catoosa. Lifeflight contacted. Lots of agencies are being asked to divert traffic around I-44. Sounds like they're shutting down the interstate.

OK. One person bought it. Seemed like a pretty bad scene. Here's a censored scene pic for the masses. No need to have stuff like that Hwy 169 scene with the guy doing a faceplant in the back of the semi pictures floating around.

When I saw it the ford was already on the wrecker, the car that was involved was gone, and the troopers were looking at the dumptruck.

News showed a truck a van and a drumptruck. Dumptruck driver was ejected and died at the scene. From the pictures it looked REALLY bad. Never seen a dumptruck hit a pickup and have that kind of damage.

Sorry about your eyes Freqed. I'm limited as to what kind of info I can release. Someone brought in some very high quality pictures of that crash shortly after it happened and the mangled vehicle factor was way high.

The news pictures on www.kotv.com are decent, and a good representation of the crash.

It's a shame that someone died in that crash though. :(

I found it one day on the National Weather Service site, I think it is mostly used for the news media for road closures and such, if I found it on my home computer than I would think that is public knowledge, they will not post names on it until family is notified.

Going back at least to the 70s, the weather service communication lines have carried this information to media outlets. In the 70s, it was via teletype and has now been placed on the computer. When I worked in radio back in the 70s, we always got this type of report on the same teletype that sent out the weather forecasts, watches, and warnings. This allowed us to write the story in our newsroom rather than wait for the AP/UPI wires to write and move the story.
