I’ve been listening to the Troop F and Troop E main dispatch channels since getting my new digital scanner within the last year. I’ve noticed that troopers only seem to use those talk groups when getting specific calls to accidents, wreck less driving, etc., but I have never heard them on there when doing just regular traffic stops on cars. Does anyone know what channel they talk with dispatch on when pulling people over or can anyone provide me with information on this???

In the Tulsa area a traffic stop is 10-60, 10-61 when they are done. They don't always cal them in, because they mostly handle everything themselves with their in unit computers. They can also reach out to County Sheriff's if they cannot connect to the Troop.

I see. I guess what I’m really trying to get an answer to is if I’d ever hear them on the radio when pulling people over like I can hear on the local sheriff and PD talk group. Where they give dispatch the plate and location and then run license info over the radio and check for warrants and stuff. Anyways that is interesting like you say, that they do all of that over the computer.

Yes the only time they do that is if they can't get anything on the computer.
