I did 854 mph once in a 2005 Chevy Malibu, with an EcoTec engine. The GPS glitched and moved me to somewhere near the North Pole and back. But hey, APRS reported it though so it has to be true. Lol

Reminds me of the old TV show AIrwolf.

Over the radio they did an all call and Hawke answered saying they were a ranger helicopter. "A helicopter, but we had you at over 800 knots" Hawke responded, "I had a Tailwind".

LOL

an old friend of mine drove a truck for a company that had installed GPS satellite tracking.
i told him "for some fun" cover the dome with aluminium foil, move the truck and wait for a call.
he drove from his house to downtown, just a couple of miles, and removed it.
his phone rang and the dispatcher asked "how fast are you going? the speed of light"?
i never found the exact figure, but i did like the question.

at 40,000 feet, well even at sea level, they are still over the sound barrier, so my vote is a glitch somewhere.

Huh??? Indicated or True Airspeed would put it over the sound barrier, but what you see is ground speed. I assure you it's neither a glitch nor the A350 breaking the sound barrier.
