Ok got cable and win97 gonna try it tonight

Hope this is painless. I plan on filling one bank with Snocounty trunking. Then maybe if Seattle is not digital as I have heard conflicting info. 2 banks ( I read it wont fit in 1) of Seattle trunking. Then varios Police, fire, some railroad and Air.

Hope this is easy!

very true seattle will not fit in one bank but you can put it in two banks and run it in closed mode. snohomish will fit in one bank if you use the web import mode in win 97 everything should work fine.

You can use closed mode when you want to scan a large trunked system and it will not fit into one bank so with a system like seattle you would need to put it into 2 banks and run those two banks in closed mode as i belive seattle has over a 140 channels that they use and a lot more hex codes then, that will fit into one bank. now i am also new to the pro 97, if you use win 97 you will see an opticon where you can put a bank into closed mode.click on the channels list and it will be to the right side of channel tag.

Now this said i have not done this myself i have just read that this can be done, ijust scan the snohomish area and it will fit into one bank i used win 97 and the web import thing to do this and it has worked fine.

Thank you. One question, what is closed mode?

Simply put --
Closed mode only scans and recieves the Talkgroups you program into the scanner

Open Mode recieves All Talkgroups whether or not they've been programed into the scanner.

Thanks guys, King county Seattle police only seems to fit in one bank fine. It seems if you want ALL county you must use 2 banks. But heck, I cant get it to work after programming it with win 97. I GIVE!
