I originally had no problems with my STARS programming on my PSR-600. However, this evening, I decided to re-do it, splitting the state in north-south sections programmed in two different scan lists. So I downloaded from the database using Win500 (CC only checked, hide alternatives unchecked), setting up two TSYS objects (STARS North and South). They are in scanlist 5 and 6 respectively. I then associated all the VSP talkgroups with each of my two TSYS objects. When I go to scan, I am definitely receiving a signal, but I note that the "T" is not displayed (indicating to me that I am not receiving control channel data). I have played with it for a while this evening, but unable to resolve this. I am certain I am missing something fundamental, but just not seeing it. I have tried Multi-site mode of Roam, Stationary and Off, but nothing changes. One thing of note, I did update my CPU/DSP versions prior to setting the above systems up, but uncertain if that would have any impact. Appreciate any guidance on what I might have hosed up. TIA

Alan, latest DSP 1.4 improves NAC Search and CPU 1.8 added Patch support, CC dump string to EDn if narrow invert is turned on and fixed mirror image issue on some scanners.

The lack of T could be you missed a nearby tower box checked prior to import. Recheck each TSYS in Win500 System Frequency bar for correct frequencies. If any are missing just click a blank space to edit them in.

Thanks for the reply Frank. I have checked and re-checked settings and have found nothing that sticks out to me. As a last resort, I finally just set up a TSYS with only the Thornburg primary/alt freqs. That is the tower in my county and I have never had any issues with reception. I associated it with the talkgroups for Div 1 & 2. I have the multi-site mode set to Off. I still have the same issue - no "T" in the display. I am obviously missing something, but I am not seeing it. Any ideas?

Ok, think I finally hit on it. Went to another PC to look at the file containing my original STARS programming that was working. I forgot to check the trunking tables. In the new TSYS' my trunking table was empty, whereas my original STARS TSYS was populated. Even though both were created with WIN500, that was an obvious glowing difference. So once I copied the table from my original TSYS to the new ones, I was able to get traffic again. Also noted that where I was working on this in the house, appearance of the "T" was sporadic. Moved it to the upper floor and was much better. So gonna play with this to see if I need to make some other adjustments. The scanner usually lives in my truck, so not used to having to find proper placement in the house for it.

From owners manual Understanding Display section, defination of T:
The scanner is currently receiving CC data. Yours is not.

Relocated the antenna on my truck and enjoying better reception now. One thing I noticed on the PSR-600 while receiving STARS (and perhaps this has been mentioned already), but in the display I see CC:08, or CC:11, or CC:12, etc, while receiving a transmission. I figured CC was Control Channel, but I can't correlate the number to anything specific in looking at the database listings. Appreciate clarification on what this means.
