ok i got my bct15, this is my first scanner, and i thinik i got it programmed right. but forsome reason i keep gettin this one freq cut into my other RR feqs that i scanned. its a police one and i dont know where it came from lol.... and also, is thre any software thats i can use to program this thing?

Yes... you can download Uniden's "UASD" software. Until you register it, there is somewhat limited programming (you have to name systems "Conventional", etc.).

Also, Butel is working on software for the 996 (and probably for the BCT15):

If police frequencies are periodically cutting into your monitoring, try pressing the "Pol" and "HP" buttons until nothing is shown across the bottom of the display that looks like "BT, HP, PL, DT". You probably have one of these Beartracker options turned on.

yeah i deff had them on there... hey i gota question. since you own one, would u be interested in programming my scanner? i would be more than happy to pay you.

Thanks for the offer, but I honestly think it would be a great learning experience if you've never done it before. Maybe someone else will jump in here and take you up on the offer.

Essentially, you've got "Systems" and "Groups". A "System" is either a conventional or trunked. A "Group" is either a collection of frequencies (conventional system) or a collection of trunked talkgroups (trunked system).
