ok, time for an attempt at reality...

was reading the "next digital scanner wish list" and instead of dreaming of these things... how about we go ahead and start a NEW scanner company. i know it would be hard to do, but i honestly think that if we all go together and worked at it, we could do it.

im sure alot of you know more about the insides of a scanner than i do, so it wouldnt be a problem with incorperating all these things into a scanner.

(or maybe im the one dreaming)

By the time you get all the 'wish list' items in the new scanner, nobody will buy it because it will cost over $1000.

If you make it, there will be enough buyers. I'd get it if I ever made enough :wink:

It's simple. Make the ultimate scanner for however much it costs, then make various scanners with less features. That's what both Uniden and GRE do...

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......................................... now THIS is interesting. I'm afraid it's a bit beyond my knowledge level, but there are a few real propellerheads in here that could make this thing dance a jig if they had enough time to play with it. I might even be able to write some stuff for it if I had the time to immerse myself in it for a few months.

You would need a lot of cash up front for research and development and other start up costs. Then in order to recoup your investment, you would need to sell it for an exorbitant amount of money, presumably because this scanner is the only product that you will be selling. You would be bankrupt before the first unit ever saw the light of day.
