I see someone has now posted a PL tone on the talkaround channels. Has anyone heard any activity on either of these channels? And would anyone know what power output they have (considering one is designated low-power and the other is high-power)? I wonder if police and fire have the same tone -- probably they do for interoperability. I see they're mixed-mode so maybe someone has actually been able to hear some activity.

OKC Direct Channels

Yeah, after more than a year with them in the scanner, I finally heard some traffic on 867.300MHz this week.
It was the Oklahoma City Fire Department in a training exercise. I heard Engine 32 checking the radio with the Command Post.
The transmissions were simplex, in analog with a PL tone of 156.7.
Both Police and Fire have these channels in their radios in the "State Mutual Aid" bank of channels.
The "High Power" and "Low Power" designations were from a submission I received when the system was first constructed.

Well the 156.7 PL tone is the same used for interoperability in general (I-Tac...), so I would assume that it's the same for police and fire. At least having the tone in the radio will prevent me from hearing all the interference from adjacent EDACS frequencies.
