I was in OKC yesterday and I still got all the usual PD/Fire channels in the clear on both rural and central. I thought they went to Provoice a few weeks ago Did I miss something?

They are still in transition. If you listen to the VHF PD or UHF FD channels side by side with the EDACS, you'll notice that there is a great deal of traffic that is audible on the old channels that is not being received by your EDACS scanner. If you think back, you might recall that you did not hear any of the police dispatchers while scanning the EDACS. The others who post might be able to provide more complete imformation, however, it appears that with regard to the PD, only transmissions from the VHF radios is being translated to the EDACS and rebroadcast in analog.

For now, Fire Alerting is in analog. Fire Ops, TAC 2, and TAC 3 used to have quite a bit of traffic on them, but today, all I hear is the dispatcher. During a major wildfire in south Oklahoma City recently, I watched a firefighter on TV talking on his ProVoice portable and while his audio was being retransmitted on UHF Fireground Channel 1, his audio was not coming across on TAC 1 while scanning the EDACS.

I've been monitoring OKC on their EDACS system from home here in Elk City since about 3:00 am. coming in loud and clear on both systems.

Next to a scanner...
On both systems? You mean PD/FD or you mean "analog (VHF and UHF)" / "ProVoice (800 EDACS)" ?

Your scanner should ignore the ProVoice talkgroup (if it's actually ProVoice at that time), and you would still be able to hear the link back to the old systems (on VHF or UHF).
