OKC FBI office HF

I just noticed an HF wire antenna on top of the OKC FBI office this morning when driving past on the Kilpatrick Turnpike. Anybody have an idea how long that has been there? Anybody ever monitor traffic or a net?

The FBI, and several other Federal Agencies, do indeed have HF 'backup' nets in place, and they do test them regularly. I believe most of them use the newer automatic frequency testing/selection methods, so they're pretty simple to use for the non-technical FBI personel.

These HF nets have been around from the beginning, and were probably more important before nationwide linked data nets were the 'norm', for RTTY traffic and such.
