I have the opportunity to program some scanners for the OKC area. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions ? I have several radios so I can split up what each do if that is a better way to not miss things.. I could split up some of the cities or maybe one be for police and one for fire. I could put different trunking systems on different radios. Starting from scratch with no OKC experience. Thanks

You mention the word scanners and radios. You should probably stick to scanners, especially if you have no experience. We can help you with scanners only tho.

Presently at my desk I have one scanner for law enforcement, and another for fire/ems.
The police one I have the OKWIN P25 system for highway patrol, surrounding county sheriffs (Oklahoma, Logan, Canadian, Lincoln, Pottawatomie, McClain, Cleveland, Grady), some local cities that are on that system (Edmond, Midwest City, Moore, Del City, El Reno, Guthrie, Nichols Hills/Village), and state and local emergency management and mutual aid. Add the OKC P25II system for OKC police and the towns that are on their system (might even want a separate scanner for that system), and the OMACS system and any law enforcement on it. For OKWIN, have only the OKC and Guthrie sites scanned.

Be aware that simulcast distortion can cause problems with OKWIN and the OKC system

The other scanner is for fire/EMS. Same systems as the other one, just have those service types scanned.
