Friday September 24 at about 10:45 or so I heard some traffic on talkgroup 55504.

This was heard just east of OKC on I-40.

From what little I heard, I think they were law enforcement and heading to Shawnee to have lunch.

Anyone know anything about this talkgroup?

Don't know anything about it.. But speaking of Shawnee, when did they lose the patch for Shawnee on the State DPS? I noticed this about a week ago.

The Shawnee patch was there on the same date I mentioned. I only scan the DPS system when I'm generally headed to OKC, so I can't vouch for the time before then.

The Shawnee patch is still active on the Tecumseh site. I'm not sure why it was originally activated for the entire OKC system (It used to show up even on the Geary site).

It's the same with the Norman PD link. It is always active on the Norman site, but not on the other meto sites. That gives troopers in Norman the capability to switch over to talk directly with Norman officers or dispatchers.

Don't know why they don't leave the Edmond link on in OKC. The system isn't THAT busy. It has to be activated by the OHP dispatchers.

State of Oklahoma DPS System --TG 55504

OK, just heard traffic on TG 55504. It was between two guys who were caling for "Keith." The second one said he thought Keith "didn't have 800." He suggested they try the "other radio." Then they disappeared.

Appears to me to be some state agency in the early stages of migrating to the DPS system.

Any Guesses?

BTW, I picked this up on the Carney Site.

TG 55504

I think it is Lincoln county SO there using an LTR system and the ID's are mixed up.
What do you think, there listed in the trunking area, Most of them are 502, 503, 504,etc. on the regular vhf channel.

tomventris, Welcome to the Oklahoma group here at rr.com! :)

Your right, Lincoln county does have an LTR system. However, the talkgroup that fast2okc is a asking about is on the 800 MHz *moto* system that OHP and other Oklahoma cities use.

To go off topic .. what radios do you own?

Thanx for the welcome.
Im kinda green just started with trunking.
A real old Realistic pro-27, Uniden sc150b, Uniden BC350a, Pro95.
I got the pro95 for $100 itwas like new in the box, I guess it was to much for the ol guy that had it, its fun, it works fair but it just makes you want something more powerful or a bank of about 8 of somthing more powerful.
Again thanx for the welcome.
Sorry it took so long to reply I just found this topic again tonight.
I get a little lost in the pages.
