In town for the holidays, was wondering why Edmond talk groups do not come across on the calls platform for the OKC site? Not an issue with my scanner and I know there’s a broadcastify feed, calls are just convenient to see if anything that happened in the day.

what do you mean the "calls platform" ?
All Edmond TG's are usually on the OKC site or the Guthrie site depending on what TG and where you are located.

Are you talking about the recorded traffic separated by TG and ID on the broadcastify page?

The broadcastify calls platform found here: Broadcastify Calls

Yes, I am talking about the recorded traffic separated by TG and ID. Most of the other talk groups on OKWIN that I would expect to be using the OKC or Tulsa site is on there, as you can see in the talk groups DEC that are hyperlinked to the calls platform here: Oklahoma Wireless Interoperability Network (OKWIN) (P25) Trunking System, Various, Oklahoma - Scanner Frequencies

For some reason none of the TGs under “Edmond Talkgroups” are being recorded, which I find odd since the Deer Creek/Oak Cliff ones are which are dispatched by Edmond and closer to Guthrie.

I have always wondered how RR/Broadcastify is able to do this. To me the streamer would need to be sending specific data such as alpha tagging over the stream and not many people do that or have that capability.

It’s beyond me how it works, I barely understand basic trunking concepts and digital audio transmissions, let alone how they sort the info. I do know that they use a SDR, which I plan on doing more research into so that I can start broadcasting SLATER and MOSWIN sites near where I live sometime soon.

Anyways, I was just curious if the Edmond TGs being omitted was a computer problem or a radio problem. It likely seems like a computer problem the more I think about it, which is beyond my understanding to even inquire about it.

Next to a scanner...
There isn't really an "Edmond" site for OWKIN...just the OKC Metro Simulcast. The Calls Platform could limit the talkgroups, but they are not limited on the OKC site. Every talkgroup that shows up on that site should be sending to the Calls area on Broadcastify, assuming the receivers aren't already loaded up/full to capacity (I believe the current setup allows for 25 simultaneous calls between OWKIN OKC, OKC P25 and OMACS downtown). I did double check and see what you were referring to - I've adjusted the system to not use a pre-defined list of talkgroup IDs anymore, so it really should be fully open to receiving ANY talkgroup on that system. After restarting the system, it seems like Edmond is coming in. Weird - but thanks for your observation and note!

Thank you very much! That’s of it did not come through until you opened it up to any talkgroup… Demond’s were definitely predefined. Oh well, I’m glad it’s coming through now. Happy new year!
